Sociology Positions, Massey University
The School of People, Environment and Planning is looking to appoint two lecturer/senior lecturers in Sociology to be located on the Manawatu Campus of Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand. This campus has a rich research and teaching tradition in relation to the land, natural resources and the environment. Sociology is a key social science programme within the School of People, Environment and Planning which has a presence on both the Manawatu and Albany campuses.
The appointee will possess a relevant doctorate and will have relevant research and teaching expertise in Sociology. The appointee will be required to contribute to one or several of the following fields: Applied methodology; Inequalities; Governance; Social, technological and economic transformations; and Nature.
The appointee will develop and teach – both internally and extramurally – undergraduate and postgraduate students, and provide supervision at Masterate and PhD level. Teaching is conducted on the Palmerston North campus and there is a strong distance education programme.
The successful applicant will contribute to the development of the Sociology programme’s undergraduate and postgraduate offerings, to its research and publication profile, and to collegial relations within the programme and the School more broadly.
