Call For Abstracts Rural Studies Student Conference
The Rural Sociology Graduate Association (RSGA) at Penn State will be hosting their 8th Annual Rural Studies Student Conference this fall!
This year's conference, "Inequality and Inequity in Rural Society" will take place virtually on Friday, October 22nd, 2021, with a pre-conference speaker on the afternoon of Thursday, October 21st.
We look forward to welcoming this year's keynote speakers:
We invite students from all universities, all disciplines, and all levels to present their work. Abstracts may reflect thesis and dissertation work, as well as program design proposals, term papers, or other research projects. Works from all stages of the research process are welcomed and encouraged for submission. This is a great opportunity to receive feedback on research (at any stage of development from any discipline or department) from your student peers. Please note that only students (undergraduate or graduate) are invited to present; however, non-students are welcome to attend.
Friday, September 24th is the abstract submission deadline for this year's Rural Studies Student Conference. Students who intend to present are asked to submit a 250 word abstract of their work via the Abstract Submission Form. Students may choose to submit their abstract as a standard 12-minute conference presentation or as a digital poster submission.
Conference registration is free but required. Please visit Registration Form to confirm your attendance. You may register up until October 20th to be able to receive the zoom link for the conference.
  • You do not need to submit an abstract in order to attend.
  • The conference will be completely virtual, so no travel or other expenses are required.
